ABOUT ABA

FMBT offers a wide variety of behavioral services for individuals at risk for developmental delays, children, adolescents and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and related disorders, and for individuals of all ages who have functional, social and behavioral challenges.

FMBT utilizes procedures of applied behavior analysis (ABA) as a basis of all services provided. Research has proven ABA to be the most effective treatment option for developmental disorders. Our dedicated, interpersonal team-based approach offers the best solution of growth for your family.

ABA SERVICES

CORE ABA

Core ABA is designed for individuals who require support with early foundational developmental skills. Complex Concepts are broken down into simplified steps in order to acquire complex tasks, close gaps in learning and increase independence.

  • Areas targeted may include: Pre-learning skills (attending, following simple commands and responding to one's name), Language and Communication (expressing one's self, expanding language repertoire), Basic Concepts (letters, numbers, colors) Socialization (looking at others, engaging in conversation with others), and Safety Skills (learning basic safety information, and following safety rules).
  • The client and parent are provided direct support by a therapist to acquire new skills
  • Individuals who are non-vocal may learn to speak, communicate using sign language or other adapted modes of communication.
  • This program has greatest effects when began between the ages of 2 - 5 years old.
  • Once basic skills are mastered, more advanced skills are introduced

Intensive ABA

Intensive ABA is designed for individuals who display significant behavior challenges in the home, school and/or community settings. This program focuses on eliminating problem behavior and helping the individual to develop more appropriate replacement behaviors that better meet their wants and needs.

  • Challenging Behaviors are identified, assessed and targeted for change through behavior intervention
  • The client and parent are provided direct support by a Behavior Therapist to acquire new skills which are more socially appropriate
  • Appropriate behavior is reinforced to increase future occurrence of positive behavior
  • Programs are developed that best accommodate the daily family structure already in place
  • Treatment program is monitored by the clinical manager and directed through the collaboration of the clinical manager and family
  • Data is taken consistently to assess progress overtime
  • This program can be applied to a client of any age, 0-65 years old

In-home Parent Training

In-home Parent Training is designed for parents who could benefit from working directly with a behavior analyst on basic concepts of ABA. The service is tailored to the needs of the parent and the client. Parents learn how to manage behavior, design intervention and to assess their child's behavior in the future. Supervision is also conducted with the client present to ensure consistent support, optimal parent performance and client progress. Parents truly benefit through this program and experience empowerment.

At-Risk Children, Youth and Adult Intervention and Training

This service is dedicated to organizations seeking Positive Behavior Intervention and Support for consumers who are at-risk for mental or emotional issues, homelessness, defiance disorder and/or substance abuse.
